Paré studied acting in her native Montréal since she was 14 years old. She appeared in a half dozen school and amateur theater productions before landing the roles of Jesus in Godspell and Maid Marian in Robin Hood in high school productions. Her first professional performance was in the role of Rosalie Profaci in the mini-series Family: The Joseph Bonano Story. Also in 1999, she co-starred in En vacances which premiered at the Cannes festival. For the beginning of the new millennium, Paré starred in Stardom (2000) with Dan Aykroyd, about a small town girl hitting the big time. She also landed a role in Léa Pool's Lost And Delirious (2001). Her biggest film to date has been Wicker Park (2004), starring Josh Hartnett.
